ACE PENA VS. BLAISE VS. JOANNA RISSI VS. KIERAN OVERTON
“KIERAN OVERTON, how fucking dare you!”
There were many things that Blaise despised, however the one thing that topped the list was having her spotlight stolen. If everything went as planned, the show would have went off the air with the sight of Blaise with her hands held high. Instead, it ended with a downed Rory Hazlow and with Kieran Overton standing tall. Who the hell did he think he was? After all that work that she put in, the last thing that everyone would remember was him.
It not only marked a important victory being that it was the first show, but it also marked her in-ring return after being out of action for over a year. She had spent so much time and energy in training, therefore when Rory went down that last time it was truly momentous for her. It solidified that returning was not a mistake and Blaise in fact "still had it." Her angry voice was heard before she even came through the curtains. Soon, she came stomping through with a scowl on her otherwise pretty face. As soon as she came through, she quickly attracted the attention of the camera.

Soon, she came stomping through with a scowl on her otherwise pretty face. As soon as she came through, she quickly attracted the attention of the camera.
“You have no idea what you have just done! I am not someone you want to make an enemy of. If I wasn’t so exhausted after dominating Rory tonight, I wouldn’t have moved from that ring and things would have turned out differently.”
She stated confidently, despite knowing that was far from the truth. Whenever things weren’t looking in her favour Blaise didn’t think twice of removing herself from the situation. A lot of people liked to stay and fight, because of the pride. They wanted to look strong, but Blaise was more interested in looking out for herself. People could think whatever they wanted about her. Regardless of it all, it was clear that the woman was not a one hundred percent. As she stood, she kept giving attention to her head.
“You’re lucky tonight, but that luck won't last wrong. I won't forget, but it's safe to say that Rory won't either. Congrats! First night and everyone loves you already. I think that might be a record."
Blaise stated sarcastically. She had so much talk, when in reality the menacing frame of Overton was intimidating. There was a reason all of these words were being said from the safety of backstage and not in front of his face. There of course was a time and place for everyone. As she talked, a woman soon entered the frame. She grasped Blaise’s arm as she whispered something into her air. Through their interaction it was clear that they knew one another. As the woman whispered, Blaise yelled back in response. The woman clearly wanted to get Blaise out of there before she maybe said something she would regret, but clearly Blaise was not understanding that. And if she did, she simply did not care.
“No, I’m not done… I know, I know!” She cursed the woman, as she shoved her slightly to face the camera once more. “Tonight, was supposed to be my moment and you had the audacity to come and ruin it. I would love to say more, but that would just make it more about you when it’s about me. It’s always been about me, despite your pathetic attempt out there. Tonight, I showed the world exactly what I am capable of and exactly why it is a mistake to underestimate me. I did exactly what I said I was going to do. Rory, sweetie, I defeated you not only once… BUT TWICE. I would love to hear the excuses to come out of your mouth the next few weeks. After weeks of spending your time talking smack, saying I was undeserving… YOU LOST. You sort of put up a fight, but not really. I kind of wished for more of a fight from you to be honest, but it's okay. Maybe next time, if there ever is one that is. All I can say is that I hope you learn from this match."
I know it’s not the last I will see of you, either. I know you'll be back for more, because they always are even when it obviously isn't a good idea. Even though I was kind and tried to warn you from the start about what you were walking into. You were walking into a match where you were the underdog and its not like you were going into this match with as much on the line as I was. No shade, but you’re a nobody. Perhaps one day you’ll build your name, but right now the person to beat is ME. Rory, you made the mistake of not realizing and if everyone else is smart they would learn from his mistakes. I did not come here to make friends, nor did I come here to play games. You have now seen a bit of what I am capable of and that's just the first night back. My confidence and my ability will continue to grow and it is definitely something worth taking notice of."
With that, Blaise continues down the hallway and meets with the woman who was trying to drag her off a bit earlier. They share a few more words, before continuing down the hallway and eventually out of view.
There was nothing like returning home. Throughout the past few months Blaise had grown so accustomed to the loudness that came along with a child. When she entered her house after being on the road for the first time in a year, she wasn't sure what to do with herself. She looked around as she sat down her bag and suitcase on the floor. With a sigh, she quickly decided to head out. After a few phone calls, the meeting was set and she was face to face with the one person she did it all for, her niece.
"I missed you so much."
She exclaimed as she got down to the level of her niece, engulfing her in a hug. Blaise parted from her and made eye contact with her brother. There was no affection shared between the two, just a mere nod of acknowledgment before they spoke. It wasn't always like this though. As time went on and they grew older, they lived separate lives. Her brother settled down whereas Blaise pursued her dreams. She, of course, achieved him whereas her brother sort of had to take the more practical jobs and consider his family. This led to some bitterness between the two, although it of course was not Blaise's fault that he made the choices that he did. Regardless of not having the best relationship, they still helped each other out. In the end, they were all the family they had. Her parents were still alive, but were always absent. Once she got to a certain age, she just sort of stopped bothering with them especially considering whenever they spoke they just wanted something. They had no interest in her, but only interest in what she could bring to the table despite their failure to do so for Blaise as a child.
"How have you been?"
"It's been really nice having her back. She's good company, perhaps what I needed all long."
He was referring to the time he spent away from his daughter, when Blaise stepped in to help him out.
That lasted for awhile, until Blaise got the itch to return back to the ring. It was almost as if people just knew because then days later she got a phone call and then was signing on a deal. It was nice to be home to see her family for the sake of seeing them, but it was also a nice mental break. She had been so pent up with so much anger as a result of her match that it was nice to be able to take her brain off of things for awhile.

"And what about her?"
She wondered, as her niece wondered off and began to play on her cellphone. It was mostly used for business purposes, but of course she held a soft spot for her and had a few games downloaded. She was basically the child Blaise never had, and realistically never would.
"She's okay, but she's been asking a lot of questions. Amelia just wants to know where you're at and what you're doing. She always just wants to call, but I have to tell her that you know, Auntie is busy and will call when she can."
"Yeah, I probably should have thought of that. I'm sorry I didn't call or at least text. Obviously a lot was going through my mind and I had a lot at stake. I really had no idea what I was walking into when I signed to this company. So far, so good. I haven't lost yet, but that was just the first show. I'm sure once things move on I'll have more time. Although, just because I'm not calling constantly doesn't mean I forgot about my little bean."
"Kind of heard to explain to a child, though."
"I mean, you're right. It'll take time to adapt, but I know we'll get to that place eventually. I'm really excited to see you guys, even if it isn't for long. It's a nice reminder of why you're doing what you're doing. For a long part of my career everyone decision I made was purely selfish, and while not all of that has changed I now take you and Emilia into consideration, if you know what I mean? I know that while she does not watch right now, one day she will because obviously the internet is a thing. I can't just keep her away from it, but what I can do is try to build myself into a better version- into a version that she can be proud of. But it's not easy... Everyone is constantly testing my patience, or doubting me and you know how that gets me.."
"You always were a hot head. Some things don't change."
"I'm trying to manage them though. Having an advisor to help me reconsider some of my decisions has been helpful. I might not always listen to Lucy, but she does have my best interest at heart. Just the other week I found myself flying off the handle after my match. She really tried to protect me, remind me to mindful of what I say. I didn't really listen, but maybe next time." She shrugged. "Anyway, I think we should get on with eating, what do you think?"
He nodded in response, being a man with few words in comparison to his sister that could go on for days. Along with being a hot head, she was a chatterbox. Sometimes she could use it to her advantage and talk herself out of situations, but most of the time it just talked herself into corners. So far in Divine she had not, but that would only last so long.
A visit back home was nice, but it was time to go back to work. The scene opened up to Blaise sitting in her locker room. While some were humble with the earnings, Blaise was not. She sat in front of the vanity she had requested to be carried in as she went over a few things for her upcoming match. The whole thing was quite lavish and painted finely. As Blaise went over her belongings, she began to reflect about her upcoming title match. It was a position she was very comfortable going into, having competed numerous time at high stake matches. She prided herself on being an individual who could be relied on to give a good performance, and this match would be no different. No matter who she was going up against.
"While this match is cute and all, isn't rather pointless isn't it? We all know who is going to walk out of this match victorious. The same person that impressed the world last week... ME! When I look at my opponents, I feel almost insulted. Last week, they put me in the ring with some juiced up cave-man looking guy, who turned out to be all talk, and now this week I'm faced with two opponents. They could not find one person that could challenge me properly, or hold their own in a match with me so instead they got three. The company gathered the creme of the crop, in their eyes at least, to crown the World Champion. It's the second show, with the first one that had many individuals staking their claim or showing their worth. As we all know and as I constantly remind you, I did just that but so did my opponents. Joanna Rissi performed well, as did Ace Pena but the burning question on my mind was: BUT WHERE WAS KIERAN OVERTON? He was nowhere to be found, yet he is inserted into the match and given such an opportunity all after the only thing he really did was finish what I already started with Rory Hazlow. He picked up my scraps.. He basically kicked the poor guy when he was down, which is something even I wouldn't do. And he is rewarded with this match... It is like giving your dog a treat after they have just peed in the house and expecting them to stop. They're going to continue to pee in the house and in due time, link that with receiving a treat. Nothing good ever comes from reward bad behavior. If it was me and I had the power to decide what was done, he would be punished. Everyone could see clearly that he had every intention of trying to lay one of his grubby fingers on me, although I was a bit too quick for him. IMAGINE how differently things could have been if that uncontrollable BEAST laid his hands on the largest signing that this company has had?
There is little that I can say about my opponents for this match. All I can talk about Kieran is about the bad first impression that he put on me, but beyond that not much could be said. The company is new and fresh, so like everyone else, I am feeling everything and everyone out. While it is new, there are plenty of familiar faces. One of them a sort of friend of me, if you can believe it, recently just jumped aboard whose name is Zoe McDraven. She had an impressive career and quite consistent. While we were definitely very different when it came to our morals and our tactics, we got along. Another familiar face is of course Joanna Rissi. Joanna, I have you and your husband to thank for giving me the platform that allowed me to build the illustrious career that I have. As they always say, don't bite the hand that feeds you, however as you probably know better than anyone else I have never been a good listener. I have allowed personal relationships to change how I treat an opponent in the ring.We could easily just team up, right? Take those two guys and leave it down to whoever the better competitor is between us to become champion. While that does sound nice, I would only do that for an competitor that is worthy and you Joanna... are not worthy. After knowing you for so many years, I think this is the first time we have stepped foot in the same ring, at least that I can recall of... We were just on two different spectrums. I was all the way at the top, while you were... well, let's face it Joanna, you were on the bottom. You just weren't in the same league and whether you like to admit it or not, you never will. Because unlike you, I got my break in this business because I scratched and clawed my way to it. It was a dream of mind and I did everything in my power to accomplish it. I broke down barriers and became the first woman to do so many things. I won titles that woman were never meant to hold and opened that door for women after me. WHEREAS YOU, everything you have is because of your husband. He taught you everything he knew and made it easy for you. You didn't have to face rejection after rejection before finally finding a company that was willing to take a chance on me like I did. You just showed interest and BOOM- wish granted for Joanna. So after all that, if you think walking into this match just because we know each other from back in the day that I'll be kind to you, then you have another thing coming, boo boo.
Then lastly, you have Ace Pena. A man who may have won last week, but not because he was the better competitor that night. Rather it was because his opponent was foolish and got himself disqualified. It's unfortunate that you couldn't get that W, Ace, but it's even more unfortunate that this week will be more or less the same thing going down or you. It's a shame, but just a part of what you sign up for when you step foot in the ring with one of the greatest women wrestlers of all time. In that, that's a win for you, when you think about it. You'll be able to go home to your family and say that you got to one on one with the Queen herself. So when you get down on yourself for losing, those are the things I want you to remind yourself of Ace. That you didn't just lose against anyone, Ace. You lost against the champ, and that is nothing to be ashamed of."
