Backstage
It wasn’t too long after Brianna’s match. By this time in the night, she’s already been backstage, talked to a few people and gotten changed. Still, however, Brianna Rissi is seen backstage just outside the hallway area. She was no longer in her ring gear, instead in a stylish tiny black top and white jeans. Brianna walked the area with confidence. Staff, competitors and crew alike all stared at her as she seemed to part them with her appearance. They looked on having witnessed the World Champion’s dominant display and performance in her match earlier. In just a few appearances for Divine, Brianna had quickly made herself one of the biggest names and one of the biggest names in the world of wrestling.
As Brianna made her way backstage she looked left then looked right. She searched with her eyes for unrivaled moments as she tilted her head here and there. There was no sign of Ryan Morgan, nor was there any sign of Justice. Brianna looked disappointed, she shrugged. She still had anger and the spirit to fight in her but after just witnessing what she could do, Ryan Morgan, nor Justice were anywhere to be seen. Vibrantly brimming with energy, Brianna marched back up the hallway to the locker room. She’d already caught up with Michael after their match and he and Joanna were long gone by now.
Brianna stopped at the corner of the hallway and looked back as 2 seconds later, Illa Isabella made her way around the corner, coming face to face with the champ.
Illa Isabella: Hey! Where have you been? I’ve been waiting to leave for ages now. April and Michael already left for the hotel like, almost an hour ago. I’ve still got the car in the parking garage downstairs, are you coming or not?
Brianna hoisted her Divine World Championship belt up on her shoulder as she smirked at Illa who was ready to go a long time ago.
Brianna Rissi: I thought Ryan Morgan might be slithering around here, I was hoping to catch up with him backstage, give him the match that he pussied out of but it looks like he hightailed it out of here before we even left the ring.
Illa Isabella: I heard that the second the music stopped out there, he jumped into a limo and sped off. I really think it’s clear that he doesn’t want a piece of either you or Michael. First he fakes being sick and then he runs away like a little girl? What’s he playing at? After all that big talk?
Brianna Rissi: I don’t know, personally I don’t really care, I just want to take him down and Justice and whoever else gets in my way. In case these people haven’t realized yet, I’m the World Champion and I’m getting tired of everyone talking such a big game about me but not doing anything to back up their claims.
Illa Isabella: I don’t blame them for being scared, you’re kinda terrifying…
Brianna raises her eyebrow at looks at Illa with a smirk as Illa grins.
Brianna Rissi: So I guess I’m going back with you? Anything else we need to do or can we just head back to the hotel?
Illa Isabella: Like I said, I’ve been looking around for you and waiting for you for almost an hour. I’ve been ready to go for a while… Unless you want to circle the arena one last time, track down Justice and beat the living crap out of them? That shouldn’t take you too long.
Brianna Rissi: Nah, it’s all right. There’s always next week for that. Let’s go back to the hotel and see what the others are up to and how they’re going after tonight. I’m eager to check out the next card for Saga anyway.
Illa Isabella: The next card is already up, you’ve been walking around this place for so long, they’ve already put out the next line up.
Brianna Rissi: Oh? And who am I facing? Rory Hazlow? Claude Vigor?
Illa Isabella: No, Michael has Rory Hazlow. It looks like you’re in a pretty odd main event match. Mr. Katz vs. Brianna Rissi vs. Ryan Kelly in a ladder match? Hmm, that’s pretty weird, why would they book something like that?
Illa remarks as she looks down and studies the card on her phone. She shows it to Brianna who slightly tilts her head and looks down at it, raising an eye at Illa and looking confused herself.
Brianna Rissi: I have no idea? Who knows why they would have booked a match like that? Honestly I would have liked to get my hands on Ryan Morgan or Justice in competition but it looks like they’re not gonna make it that easy for me. Regardless, I’m going to get my hands on them on the next Saga one way or the other so whoever is behind this, whether it be Tiger or Morgan or Justice - they are just delaying the inevitable.
Illa Isabella: Who knows Bri, all I know is the others are gonna wonder where we are and it’s getting pretty late, girl. Are we ready to go or what?
Brianna Rissi: Sure, let’s get out of here. I think I’ll enjoy the break after tonight.
Illa Isabella: You and me both…
Brianna and Illa both continue up the hallway and pass a ref smoking just as they get to the entry to the parking garage. Brianna has a determined look on her face, not for a second forgetting about Morgan, Justice or her responsibilities as champion. On her mind now though is the test against Ryan Kelly and Mr. Katz. Two men that have proven they can hang in the ring but are they good enough to hang with the champion? As Brianna and Illa leave for the night, the Champion of the World kept her current thoughts linear and broke all of her challenges down into 2’s, something her expanded mind was good at doing… Tiger & Morgan? Hazlow and Vigor? … Katz and Kelly… It was time for things to begin on Brianna’s terms.
TWO WEEKS LATER
Melbourne, Au
Warehouse (Unknown location)
(Off Camera)
The lights are dim in a darkly lit room. A camera is set up and crew members walk around setting up last minute touches. In the middle of the set, is a medium built woman with long dark brunette hair. She twirls the long ponytail with her finger, as she chews gum. Someone is yelling orders in the background for props to be adjusted, lighting to be added, furniture to be moved, and people to clear the way. There are cameras set up, aimed at the sole chair in the middle of the set. The chair is red and velvety. It practically glows in the darkened scene. Candles are lit around it on black tables, giving the scene an illuminating sense.
Bree: Don’t you think this is a little over the top?
Brianna turns to the obvious director, and the director shakes her head.
Director: No. This is exactly what you need. A strong, seductive segment for Divine. You’re the Divine World Champion. You’re a woman. You are dominating in a male dominated sport.
Brianna cocks her head to the side.
Bree: Wasn’t the last champion also a woman?
Director: It was, but she was weak. She ran when the going got tough. She couldn’t hack it. But you, Brianna. You’re proving week after week that you are capable of what she already accomplished, and so much more.
The director turns to look at Brianna, eyeing her up and down.
Bree: What?
Director: You need to get ready. We are almost all set. You can’t go on the set looking like… that.
Brianna looks down at her clothes.
Bree: What’s wrong with this?
She was wearing a pair of black slacks, and a red midriff cut off shirt.
Director: Your shirt will clash with the chair. Now go. Andrea will help choose your wardrobe.
Letting out a soft sigh, Brianna made her way to where the clothing was set up for the set. Grabbing Brianna by the arm, she drags her over to a changing area, and hands her articles of clothing. After ten minutes of arguing and conflict, they both agreed to put her in a black sexy dress that was short, but had long sleeves.
Director: Lets go! Tiger wants this set before the show, you know!
Rolling her green eyes, she makes her way to the set and sits on the chair. On a silent cue, someone brings over her World Championship and props it up on a nearby table. A few more cues are given, and then Brianna is left alone on the set.
Director: Ready?
Brianna nods her head, and there is a click, and then the red light on the camera turns on, and Brianna knows thats her cue.
(On Camera)
Bree: A month or so ago, you all witnessed a miracle. You witnessed the dawn of a new era. My era. I came to Divine to show everyone what I was made of. I’ve trained for years to get to where I am, and I entered this federation and totally demolished most of my competition in my first match. Not only did I dominate and win my debut match at my first Pay Per View show, I won the top prize that Divine had to offer. The World Championship.
Brianna turns and strokes the gold.
Bree: Isn’t she a beauty? Look at the shine from the polish I had to give her after she was relinquished by her previous owner. A sex symbol to everyone who wants her, but most will never claim her. Like a piece of ass, that everyone wishes they could even touch, but it will always be out of their reach.
Brianna smirks into the camera, resting her hands on her lap.
Bree: in that match, I not only took out the fools who thought that they actually were good enough to try and capture her, but those who were foolish enough to underestimate me as a rookie entering this federation as a newbie. People like Kieran Overton, whom thought that with his brute strength, thought he had what it would took to take someone of my size down. Or someone like Zoe, whom has a lack of disapline of showing up when the time actually comes. Lets face it. The only other person involved in that match that really had a shot at winning it, is my cousin, Michael Rissi. He was truly the only other deserving competitor in that match, and it was with luck that he didn’t pin someone at the last second to claim the gold as his own.
She crosses her legs and leans back in the chair.
Bree: Fast forward to three weeks after that, and you place the top two competitors from the title match on the same side this time in a tag team match to take out two more people who aren’t good enough to lick the mud off of Kieran Overtons boot, never mind taking on two of three members of the most dominating alliance in Divine, Rissi Family, when I teamed with Michael to take on some chick with tattoos and her partner, I forget who he was. Since dominating that so called “tag team” legion has deleted her twitter account and gone on hiatus it would appear. Have I already run my first feud out of this fed? I hope not. I came here to compete, not make enemies.
Brianna kind of smirks not in a sadistic way, but in a sad, sympathetic manner.
Bree: Fast forward it to this weeks match. This week, I’m being forced again into the main event picture, as I’m being forced to take on the number one contenders for the Pure and Hardcore Championships. Tigers hopes seem to relish on the idea that if one of them can beat yours truly, then their ego will boost so high, sparking a higher rating for titles that are on lower levels than the one I’m already perched on. Mr, Katz and Ryan Kelly. My first match was a stipulation where everyone had 25 minutes or so to make the final pin. My last match was a tag team match. And this week, I’m involved in a ladder match.
Brianna stands up and takes a few steps to the camera as it pans out to get her fill figure.
Bree: This week, I take on two men in a match to the top of a ladder to grab a prize and win the match. I haven’t specialized in any kind of stipulation, but as I’m already at the top, it seems this kind of match suits me well I’m already at the top of the ladder, looking down at the two men who will try and end my small winning streak. Now, I know not to underestimate these two. They are two talented roster members, and I am not going to take them for granted as some may. I know how power goes to ones head, and to be honest, to me, as nice as the belt is, and as much as I’m humbled to be the champion, its just an object, and my focus is on my winning record. This match is bound to be a brutal one. SO may things can and will happen during this match, and as far as I’m concerned, there is nothing really to prepare anyone for a match like this. Everyone knows how to climb a ladder. But we all know its not that simple to win this kind of match. It’s more than a race to the top. People will be literally attempting to tear each other down, while others attempt to rise to the occasion.
She sits back down.
Bree: The only problem for Katz and Kelly?
She crosses her legs, grabs her title and lays it across her lap.
Bree: I’m already at the top.
The red light on the camera goes off, and you hear someone say, “Perfect”
Brianna stands up and someone takes her title from her. She walks over to the director.
Director: That was great! Short an to the point! I have to say that with your cousins reputation for being ruthlessly vocal on the camera, you managed to tone it down and sound as agressive at the same time. Props to you.
Bree: Thanks, I guess. Are we done here? I’ve got places to go ad poeple to meet up with.
Director: Go go!
The director walks away as people start cleaning up the staging. Making her way back over to the changing area, she finds it deserted. She looks down at her cell and sees a missed call from Michael Rissi. Looking at the time, she realizes that it ran longer than expected. She hits the recall button and it goes straight to his voicemail.
Bree: Hey, just got done wrapping it up with your film crew. Thanks for letting me borrow them. They were great and easy to work with. A little bossy but professional. Hey, I was thinking, maybe we could meet up at Captain Scullies for a quick drink later if you can get away from Joanna for a bit. I know you two are probably taking advantage of the long vacation bewteen shows, but I could once again use your help and excellent knowledge! Call me back!
She hangs up and quickly changes into her own clothes and leaves the warehouse. Outside, the heat of the blistering sun beats down on her, and she wishes she chose to wear shorts to the studio set up instead of black pants. Getting into her jeep, she revs it and pulls out, and heads back to the heart of Melbourne, awaiting her cousins response.
