SCENE: St Kilda Beach. St Kilda
(OFF CAMERA)
Its bright light from sun shines down brilliantly on the Australian beauty that lays in the sand, propped up on her elbows, overlooking the open ocean before her. Her long hair hangs down, touching the soft sand. Reflective lenses cover her face, shielding her eyes from the gleaming glare of the sun. The waves crash in front of her against the rockless beach she is perched on. Around her, sunbathers are taking in the warmth of the season. It’s a beautiful 85 currently and going to get hotter as the day wears on. People walk along the coast in front of her, some couples holding hands, other mothers with children collecting seashells. An occasional jogger runs past her, and gives a quick peek to the brunette laying on a pink towel in a black bikini. St Kilda Beach was her favorite swimming hole here in Melbourne, Australia. It was a clean beach that got busy but never overly crowded. It was the perfect place for Brianna to get away and get some peace and relaxation in while she thought.
Last week, Brianna made her debut in Divine, a wrestling federation that was quickly rising. After leaving EHWF, she tried various feds, but nothing ever lasted. The lack of competition quickly bored her, and she opted out of her contracts pretty quickly. In her short career, she quickly rose to fame, so plenty of places were willing to offer her a position with guarantees, but the only thing she asked for were fair and competitive matches, and none delivered. If anything her presence in certain feds hurt them, because she drove out most of the halfway decent competitors. Harming the statistics of federations was not her intention nor her goal. So for the past few months, she layed low. Flying back and forth from Australia to the States sporadically to support her cousin and his wife in their career in Divine.
It was a few weeks ago that her cousin suggested that instead of wasting her talent at home wallowing in sorrow, that she suck it up and attempt Divine. Skeptical as she was, she did see potential for actual competition. She came to Divine with an open mind and watched competitors as they fought to win their respective matches. There was a lot of opportunities in Divine that Brianna was obvious too. But with her cousins persuasiveness, she agreed to give it a shot. So she approached Tiger and asked him to test her and throw her in the Championship Match as a wild card. He denied her, and that fueled her. When she saw that Michael was in trouble at the end of his own win, she wasted no time in using that fuel to prove to Tiger just how ready she was, although he had no idea what her capabilities were. After that, he must have seen something in her that proved that she could handle herself well in the World Title Match at Supremacy
It was quite shocking to see her name up on the list of competitors in the match. But then she realized who else would be in the match against her, and her heart nearly stopped. It made her double take the motivation as to why Tiger placed her in the match. Was it to prove she wasn’t ready for such an opportunity by placing her in a match with the one person she feared facing? Her own flesh and blood, Michael Rissi? Or did he actually see potential in her and decided to take an actual chance by placing her in a match in hopes for a competitive spot? As much as Tiger didn’t know her, she knew less about him. The only thing she could do was prove that she was as worthy as she made it appear last week at Saga.
“Excuse me?” someone asks, a shadow suddenly standing over her.
Brianna looks up to see a tall man hovering over her, his hair dripping drops of water. His body gleam in the shine of a fresh swim in the ocean. Hi was athletic and tanned, the look of an Aussie, but his accent spoken to her was American. He knelt down and looked at where her eyes would be through her sunglasses. Taking her left hand, she lifts them up on top of her head, and looks at the man, cocking an eyebrow.
“Can I help you?” she asks, a little irritated at the unwanted interruption.
“I was just wondering if your cousin is around?” he asks.
So, this meathead knew who she was. She rolls her eyes and places her sunglasses back on the bridge of her nose and turns her gaze back out to the ocean.
“If you’re looking for an autograph Michael, then your best bet is to hit every gym in the area to find him. He will be prepping for the next three weeks for his next match,” Brianna tells him, her voice full of boredom. “But I warn you about interrupting him. When he’s in beast mode, he wants to be left alone. Enhance why I’m here and not there.”
The man just looks at her, and cocks his head.
“I watched last weeks episode of Saga. I have to admit that I’m looking forward to this match coming up. If anyone has a shot of beating him, it’s probably you. Kai Stevens gave him a run for his money, but it will be interesting to see how he handles his own blood in the ring. Especially a female. I can’t see him tossing Joanna around, but I see you putting up quite a match against him. Good luck,” he says and stands up.
He walks away, probably to find his man crush at the gym. Brianna turns her gaze back to the ocean, his words playing around in her head. Did she actually have a shot against Michael Rissi? Pfft, probably not. Luckily there would be other people in the match that she could concentrate on that she could probably avoid her cousin all together in this match. She needed to stay focused off of him, and concentrate on the other three competitors in the match. Some she knew of. Zoe McDraven was in EHWF with her, but she was respectfully on Mayhem while Brianna was forced to compete on Anarchy. Kieran Overton was another name she knew well. They’ve competed against each other previously and had a small feud from their past. Meanwhile, she’s never heard of Rory Hazlow and knew that she would have to study him in order to be prepared for this match against him. So with any luck, maybe one of them could take out the biggest threat in this match so she wouldn’t have too.

HOUSE SHOW (Melbourne, Au)
The scene takes place at a house show, just outside of Melbourne, Australia. WIth the long weeks in between shows of Divine, they spread out their house shows across the globe. The fans mingle as they await the next match. Suddenly the lights dim, and a hard drum starts to blaze over the PA System. “Into the Fire” by Disturbed begins to strum, and blue lights flash. From the backstage, a petite figure emerges, and the fans go crazy when they see Brianna Rissi standing on top of the ramp. She is sporting a pair of snug blue jean pants, and a black shirt. On the shirt, the crowd erupts as she smirks and points to the words “Bullet Kuntz” an old gimmick back from EHWF sported by her cousin and form allies of his. Although not an official member, her cousin invited her to join in on the fun of it. She then begins to make her way down the ramp and baseball slides into the ring and quickly stands up. Standing up she rises her right fist into the air, taking on the pop from the anticipated crowd. The music slowly dies, and the ring announcer hands her a mic.
“It has been nearly a year, but the Australian Angel has finally returned to the ring!” she shouts into the mic. “I couldn’t have asked for a better reunion with some of the fine talent on the Divine Roster! Such as Zoe McDraven! Rock N Roll God! Kieran Overton! And the big man himself, Michael Rissi!”
The crowd goes so wild for her cousins name, they start to chant.
“RISSI! RISSI! RISSI!”
She smiles out to the crowd at this name.
“Unfortunately, he is NOT here tonight, but don’t worry, you’ve got the next best Rissi in the house!” she shouts.
Once again the crowd cheers, and she smiles in appreciation.
“This coming month, at Supremacy, I have been given an opportunity that everyone wishes they had. A shot at the World Title. I also understand that a lot of people are going to be unhappy as to how this opportunity came about. Many people have been here longer than I, although I’ve been around backstage. They fought week after week, to just come up short of such a golden opportunity, but here I am, and I waltz in, sign a contract, and get selected as the Wild Card for this 20 minute Championship Scramble. I’m sure that after all of this, that I’m going to have some haters against me. I’m sure that there are better suited people to select from as the Wild Card, someone like Kai who just came up short in the last match, or someone like Mr. Katz who has been in the ring ring week after week. And I’m sorry that you weren't the ones selected. But I really wanted this opportunity. I’m usually not greedy. And I’m usually not selfish. But sometimes in this business, you have to be. I’ve been in federations where management just walks all over their roster. And it's up to the roster to push forward to show management that you are more than just a stepping stone to be used as a means to make money for your business.”s
Brianna walks around the ring, and lowers the mic for a moment. She ends up facing away from the ramp, out toward the commentary table and leans against the rope, and lifts the mic back up to her mouth.
“At Supremacy, I’ll be taking on four other competitors.”
She holds up four fingers, and then closes three of them, holding up her index finger.
“The first one is that of Kieran Overton. He and I have had some serious history together in previous federations and I need to state this, he has come a long way since meeting him in the ring about six months ago. I don’t know what has led up to his recent success, but back in 20-18, I would never have foreseen him in a World Title match. I’ve had the pleasure of coming here and being pleasantly surprised at the success that he’s managed to find here in Divine because when I first started competing against him, although he put his heart and soul into every match he’s competed in, he always feel up short. He’s worked hard over the past few years, and it’s start to show how hard work and dedication pays off. I know that he and I have had some slight issues, and I hope that we can leave those in the past and work on moving forward in this new company. I’m genuinely looking forward to competing against him again. It’s just a shame that it’s going to end exactly how all of our other matches ended. With my hand raised above his.”
A smile smile lifts in the corner of her mouth as she takes a moment to let that sink in. She then raises her hand again and holds up two fingers.
“The second person involved in this match, Rory Hazlow, is a name I do not recognize. I’ve not had the opportunity to watch his work yet but I’m planning on doing so soon. If he is in this match then that speaks volumes. He wasn’t handed this opportunity as many will claim I have. He earned his way in some way and I’ll eventually learn how. He will probably be the only one that I need to brush up on because everyone else I’ve at least heard of. Which brings me to opponent number three.”
Brianna holds up three fingers, and pushes herself off of the ropes and goes to stand back in the middle of the ring. Some of her long hair has drifted out of place, and she brushes it back with her left hand behind her ear.
“Zoe McDraven. She was such a huge name back in EHWF. She was probably the number two diva on the Mayhem roster behind Blaise, only because Blaise managed to hold the World Title a few times, while I cant remember hearing about Zoe being the champion at all. But this is a new federation with new chances. And chances of her walking out of this match the champion is slightly higher than most of the other competitors here in the competition. She’s competed longer than I have, and that gives her an edge. She has probably crossed Michaels path in the past, and that puts her at an advantage because she will know what is coming and what is to expect. Sure, I’ve trained with Rissi for the past year and a half, but practicing and competing in the ring are completely different feelings. When I would practice with Rissi, he was attempting to show me moves, and allowing me to follow through with them until I got the concept on how certain moves should be executed. He let me knock him down, and he let me bang him up, but competing against him means he will be competing back, and Zoe probably knows how to counter them more than I do. She’s grown as a competitor and I’m looking forward to finally getting to face her, even in a multi-person match.”
She then turns to face the left side of the ring and walks over to the ropes, and a grin broads out across her face. Her excitement lifts in her eyes she raises her voice slightly.
“And now to the biggest name entering this match since Blaises departure.”
She leans over the ropes, smirking at the camera, while hold up her left hand with four fingers held up.
“Opponent numero quatro! A few weeks ago, Mikey, you were complaining that there was no one worthy of the tournament that you were competing in because they all basically sucked. You claimed that the only one in the four man competition for the solo spot that you won, was probably yourself. And while you may have been right at the time, that didn’t end up being the case. Last week, Kai Stevens ended up giving you one of the best competitions that you’ve had in a while. One of the greatest matches in the Divine recent history at least. Admit it, Mikey, you were nervous about the outcome of that match once it started and you realized that Kai wasn’t going to just lay down and hand you the match. He put up quite a fight and made it entertaining and made you realized he was where he belonged, even if he wasn’t advancing. But in the end, Mikey, you are going to be getting exactly what you wished for. Someone who would be worthy of a shot at the World Title that won't be a weakling that you can just pushover. And now, you can add a third name to the list of people getting an opportunity to compete in their first match for the top prize here in Divine. It’s to my understanding that Zoe and Kieran were both handed title shots in their first respective matches and came up short in each match. You said that they were just handed their opportunity by Tiger, but there is a difference between them and myself. And that is that Tiger wasn’t going to just hand me a match. He denied me, claiming he didn’t know what I was capable of. So I showed him. Last week, I came out there and demonstrated just what Tiger would be investing in if he put me in a match for the World Title. I earned my spot, although I didn’t compete in a match for this opportunity.”
The fans pop at this declaration.
“Now, I know that I’ve learned most of the things I’ve learned came from you. I’m not oblivious to that. I accept that my chances of walking out of this match is slim to none with you involved. And I’ve accepted that chances are I will lose my first match here as well. Just to be given this opportunity to face the competition here in this match, especially against you, is a blessing. And for it to be a shot at gold is just an added bonus. I appreciate my chance to show Tiger that I’m worth investing in so much, in such a high social media way, that I’m fine with walking out of this match, exactly as I am now, a non-champion, but a future face of this company. You have been the face of wrestling and this company from the beginning, and you’re a natural at this, but eventually you’re going to fall, and eventually you’re going to have to pass the torch on to someone. And I hope that when that time comes, that I’m the one you will pass the family flame too.”
With that, Brianna drops the mic and rolls out of the ring. As she walks up the ramp, she pumps up her arms in anticipation, as she grins out into the crowd, then disappears backstage.
